LIMA 2023: A Great Thing To Experience

Generally, LIMA stands for Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition which is a biennial event, first established in 1991. It's an event that gathers massive warships and powerful jets from all over the world, including those from the US and Russia. After this event was stopped for almost 4 years, this event was recently held back on 23-27 May 2023, where I got the chance to witness all the insane war machines for the first time which totally bless all of my five senses!

It was a trip that I planned with my colleagues for almost two weeks. Even though the event was ongoing for 5 days, we just went there for two days, as we only wanted to watch the airshow- where professionals do their job to entertain the visitors with their incredible jet-handling skills in the skyways. We stayed at a resort not far away from the place where the event was held for two days just to experience what it is like to be at an international event.

The ticket price per head was RM35, but we got a special price of RM30 as we purchased it online. We couldn't make it to be there on the 26th of May, as it was the day we departed from KL by car. However, curiosity and excitement had taken over us which led us to become one of the earliest groups to arrive at the event on the second day, the 27th of May.

The airshow started sharp at 9.00 a.m. after we had our breakfast. At the beginning of the show, we were amazed by the skills shown by TUDM pilots when they used colored smoke paired with the tail of their aircraft to perform several astounding formations that could only be performed by professionals. Several aircraft from other countries also took part and not missed to flex their formations at the skyways.

All in all, we were satisfied with the events, and hope that we could go to the upcoming event for straight five days.
